Mr. Baruch Halpert

CEO

Mr. Baruch Halpert joined Nanomaterials in April 2011 as Chairman and CEO. He is responsible for overseeing and managing all activities in the company, including R&D and business development.

Baruch has has a multidisciplinary background with more than 16 years of experience in private equity in Israel and abroad earlier in his career as an entrepreneur and later on as corporate finance advisor.  

 

Early in his career, Baruch was active in oil and gas exploration in Israel. In that capacity he obtained, developed and sold the rights to an Israeli oil and gas exploration license, The Megiddo prospect, to Ultra Petroleum (AMEX: UPL). In 1997 Baruch founded E*TRADE Israel (www.etrade.com). Obtaining the license from E*TRADE, and acted as the CEO of the Israeli franchise,

 

Following E*TRADE, Baruch was Head of Corporate Finance at Fantine Capital focusing on technology and life sciences startup companies.

 

In 2005 Baruch set up his own corporate advisory business Sapir Capital which he ran until early 2011, focusing on M&A and fund raising activities for Internet, Software, Finance, Life Sciences and Energy companies serving Israeli and non Israeli clientele. As part of this, Baruch was often closely involved in the operational  buildup leading up to transactions which included overseeing operative and financial aspects.

 

Baruch has been active in Philanthropy since 2000 – he served on the board of Elem (www.elem.org) the leading non-profit for youth in distress in Israel until 2008, and is serving as a member of the public council of Midot (www.midot.org.il) since 2008. Midot is a rating agency for non-profit organizations in Israel.

Baruch holds an LLB Degree (Hons.) from Reading University, UK.
