NanoMaterials is pleased to announce that it's product NanoLub©, the world's first commercial nanotechnology-based solid lubricant, has received the Nano 50TM Award for 2006. The Nano 50 Awards, presented by Nanotech Briefs magazine, recognizes the top 50 technologies, products, and innovators that have significantly impacted the state of the art in nanotechnology. Nanotech Briefs is a digital monthly magazine from the publishers of NASA Tech Briefs that highlights engineering breakthroughs in nanotechnology and MEMS. Nano 50 nominations were judged by a panel of nanotechnology experts. ApNano Materials to Manufacture New Line of Nanotechnology-Based Optically Black Coatings for Solar and Optical Applications

"ApNano Materials' nanoparticles are excellent optical absorbing materials and among the best substances absorbing light in the visible and near infra-red wavelengths," said Dr. Menachem Genut, President and CEO of ApNano Materials. "Laboratory experiments have shown that our nanoparticles absorb at least 98% of the light in visible wavelengths." The solar applications will include both solar thermal and photovoltaic absorbers. The solar coatings that are produced by ApNano Materials will offer more efficient conversion of solar energy.
ApNano Materials has been selected by Red Herring for the prestigious Red Herring Top 100 INNOVATORS Award for 2004. ``Selection as a top 100 Innovator puts a company in an elite group.", said Joel Dreyfuss, Editor-in-Chief of Red Herring. Red Herring's editorial staff evaluated over 1,200 submissions and based their decision in granting the award on a careful analysis of financial data as well criteria of the quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. Inorganic fullerenes are the topic of the cover story of the August 29, 2005 issue of the world renowned journal "Chemical and Engineering News" published by the American Chemical Society. The article reports on the intriguing unique properties of these materials and how they are being commercialized by our company.
ApNano Materials has been selected for the InnovationWORLD 21. This prestigious award recognizes the 21 top companies, out of hundreds profiled by InnovationWORLD, that combine exceptionally promising products with solid financial and operational qualities. "Keep an eye on the companies on this list, they are going to do big things. They're prepared for growth and global success," says M. Ratcliff, Editorial Director of InnovationWORLD.
The European Commission Grants €11.6 Million to Research ApNano Materials' Nanoparticles by a Pan- European Consortium. The project, named FOREMOST will research new ways of introducing ApNano Materials' inorganic fullerene nanoparticles into surface coatings and lubricants. The inorganic fullerenes have unique friction and wear reducing properties. The four and half year, pan-European project, whose total budget is €18.9 million, is funded by the European Union's Sixth Framework Program for Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences.
